He won an Emmy for his HBO series The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Capturing the Friedmans, and produced Catfish, the film and television series. He also co-founded Moviefone and created KnowMe, a new mobile video and sharing platform. At SXSW 2016, he and longtime friend and collaborator JJ Abrams spoke about the relevance of the human factor in digital communication.
