53 REGISTRATION/WRISTBANDS CREW Registration/Wristbands Crew Chiefs: Shelley, Erika, Pat, Alejos, John, Britny,  Kwita, Laura Registration/Wristbands Crew Days of Operation: March 6 - 19, 2016 Registration/Wristbands Check In: Volunteers who work on this crew will  check in at Registration located in Exhibit  Hall 5. Exhibit Hall 5 is located on the  northeast side of the Austin Convention  Center (ACC). Registration/Wristbands Volunteer Responsibilities & Duties: The Registration/Wristbands crew has three  main functions to make the crew work.  There are volunteers who hand out the  badge or wristband to the registrant.  There  are volunteers who assist with making the  badges and there are volunteers who assist  with controlling the lines that lead to the  credential pick-up desks.  Shift leaders for Registration/Wristbands  help with the training of the new volunteers.  The shift leaders assist with check in and  check out for the volunteers, as well as  additional administrative duties as needed.  Shift leaders also assist by acting as a point  of contact within the crew. The shift leaders  are an important part of the crew, as they  provide structure to the crew's processes.  What Else Should Volunteers Know About the Registration/Wristbands Crew: This crew is one of the largest crews in the  conference. The Registration/Wristbands  crew sees everyone who is coming in to  pick up their badges/wristbands, therefore  meeting volunteers is the first interaction  registrants have upon arrival.  Registration/Wristbands Attire and Reminders: Registration/Wristbands Crew Volunteers  should wear their volunteer t-shirt and  tasteful bottoms. The temperature in the  Austin Convention Center can fluctuate from  cold to hot, so we recommend bringing  layers (ex. hoodie, sweater, jacket) if you  tend to get cold and sensible footwear to  keep your feet comfortable throughout  your shift. If you will be working before  you receive your credential (for example,  you may be waiting for a music badge, but  working during Interactive) you will need to  pick up a working volunteer day pass from  Volunteer Central. How to Contact the Registration/ Wristbands Crew: If you need to contact your Registration/ Wristbands Crew Chiefs, you can email  them at sxswregcrew@gmail.com. During  the event, you may also call/text them on  their show phone. They check their email  several times a day. Please make sure to  call, then email your crew chiefs if you are  going to miss your shift, or arrive late. If it's  less than 2 hours prior to the start of your  shift, first email your crew, then call the  Flake Task Force at (512) 404-4623 if you're  going to be late or miss the shift.
