53 REGISTRATION/WRISTBANDS CREW Registration/Wristbands Crew Chiefs: Shelley, Erika, Pat, Alejos, John, Britny, Kwita, Laura Registration/Wristbands Crew Days of Operation: March 6 - 19, 2016 Registration/Wristbands Check In: Volunteers who work on this crew will check in at Registration located in Exhibit Hall 5. Exhibit Hall 5 is located on the northeast side of the Austin Convention Center (ACC). Registration/Wristbands Volunteer Responsibilities & Duties: The Registration/Wristbands crew has three main functions to make the crew work. There are volunteers who hand out the badge or wristband to the registrant. There are volunteers who assist with making the badges and there are volunteers who assist with controlling the lines that lead to the credential pick-up desks. Shift leaders for Registration/Wristbands help with the training of the new volunteers. The shift leaders assist with check in and check out for the volunteers, as well as additional administrative duties as needed. Shift leaders also assist by acting as a point of contact within the crew. The shift leaders are an important part of the crew, as they provide structure to the crew's processes. What Else Should Volunteers Know About the Registration/Wristbands Crew: This crew is one of the largest crews in the conference. The Registration/Wristbands crew sees everyone who is coming in to pick up their badges/wristbands, therefore meeting volunteers is the first interaction registrants have upon arrival. Registration/Wristbands Attire and Reminders: Registration/Wristbands Crew Volunteers should wear their volunteer t-shirt and tasteful bottoms. The temperature in the Austin Convention Center can fluctuate from cold to hot, so we recommend bringing layers (ex. hoodie, sweater, jacket) if you tend to get cold and sensible footwear to keep your feet comfortable throughout your shift. If you will be working before you receive your credential (for example, you may be waiting for a music badge, but working during Interactive) you will need to pick up a working volunteer day pass from Volunteer Central. How to Contact the Registration/ Wristbands Crew: If you need to contact your Registration/ Wristbands Crew Chiefs, you can email them at sxswregcrew@gmail.com. During the event, you may also call/text them on their show phone. They check their email several times a day. Please make sure to call, then email your crew chiefs if you are going to miss your shift, or arrive late. If it's less than 2 hours prior to the start of your shift, first email your crew, then call the Flake Task Force at (512) 404-4623 if you're going to be late or miss the shift.
