48 PHOTOGRAPHY Photography Crew Chiefs: Jonathan, Maggie, Earl, Rita, Robert, Chris, and Jamie on SXSW Staff Photography Crew Days of Operation: March 7 – 20, 2016 Photography Crew Check In: Meeting Room 1 in Hyatt Place Austin Downtown, 211 E. 3rd Street. Photography Crew Duties/Areas of Responsibility: The Photography Crew is tasked with documenting the SXSW experience in still photographs. Currently, this includes teams covering assignments for all of the SXSW festivals (Film, Interactive, Music), plus the SXSWedu conference. Volunteers will photograph events based on shifts/ assignments as provided by crew chiefs. Photography Crew Attire and Reminders: Photography Crew Volunteers should wear their SXSW Photographer t-shirt and tasteful bottoms. Volunteers will sometimes be working outside, so be prepared for changes in the weather, from hot to cold, wet to dry and everything else in between. Remember, Austin weather in March can sometimes be unpredictable and dressing in layers is a good idea. If you will be working before you receive your credential (for example, you may be waiting for a music badge, but working during Interactive) you will need to pick up a working volunteer day pass from your crew chief. What Else Should Volunteers Know About the Photography Crew: More info about the photography crew can be found at: photocrew.org. How to Contact the Photography Crew: The Photography Crew e-mail is sxswphotocrew@gmail.com. Crew chiefs or shift leads can be reached during the festival at (956) 320-0467. If it's less than 2 hours prior to the start of your shift and you're going to be late or miss a shift, first email your crew, and then call the Flake Task Force at (512) 404-4623 if you're going to be late or miss the shift.
