31 EVENT SIGNAGE Event Signage Staff and Crew Chiefs: Caleb, Andrew, AJ, Zach  Event Signage Days of Operation: Pre-event & March 6-20, 2016 Event Signage Check In: Volunteers who work on this crew will  check-in at Production Village, located in  Exhibit Hall 5. Exhibit Hall 5 is located on  the northeast side of the ACC, near the  corner of 4th and Red River.  Event Signage Volunteer Responsibilities & Duties: The Event Signage Crew is responsible for  producing/constructing all event signage  around the Austin Convention Center and  official SXSW venues. Using foamcore,  paper, laminators, spray-mount adhesive,  x-actos and other sign-making tools,  the crew makes signs for SXSWedu and  SXSW Music, Film & Interactive. Adobe  InDesign skills are a plus, but not required.  Additionally, the crew retrieves signage and  stands for signs not returned at the end of  the event.  Event Signage Attire and Reminders: High Beam Events Volunteers should wear  their volunteer t-shirt and tasteful bottoms.  The temperature in the Austin Convention  Center can fluctuate from cold to hot,  so we recommend bringing layers (ex.  hoodie, sweater, jacket) if you tend to get  cold and sensible footwear to keep your  feet comfortable throughout your shift.  If you will be working before you receive  your credential (for example, you may be  waiting for a music badge, but working  during Interactive) you will need to pick up a  working volunteer day pass from Volunteer  Central. What Else Should Volunteers Know About the Event Signage Crew: During your experience with Event Signage  there will be times where we are very busy  and times where we are very slow. Feel  free to bring something to occupy yourself  when things are slow, but be prepared to  jump into action when you are needed.  Also, there are a ton of people to meet and  Event Signage allows opportunity for great  networking and conversation. How to Contact the Event Signage Crew: If you need to contact your Event Signage  Crew Chiefs, you can email them, and  during the SXSW event, please email your  crew chiefs if you are going to miss your  shift or arrive late. Event Signage Crew  Email: sxeventsignage@gmail.com.  If it's  less than 2 hours prior to the start of your  shift, email your crew, then call the Flake  Task Force at (512) 404-4623 if you're going  to be late or miss the shift.
