62 SXSHUTTLES SXShuttles Crew Chiefs: Tess, Jeff, Teresa, Kami, Adrianne, Leroy, John, Jazmine, Eva SXShuttles Days of Operation: March 11 – 20, 2016 SXShuttles Check In: Meet us at the San Jacinto Room in the Hampton Inn at the top of the stairs at 200 San Jacinto Blvd. SXShuttles Crew Duties/Areas of Responsibility: The SXShuttles Crew considers themselves to be SXSW ambassadors. Volunteers will assist registrants with directions and keep them entertained while they are waiting for the shuttle buses. SXShuttles Volunteers staff stops around downtown Austin, as well as at the ACC, and provides information while riding the shuttles. SXShuttles Crew Attire and Reminders: SXShuttles Volunteers should wear the SXSW Volunteer t-shirt and tasteful bottoms. Volunteers will be working outside so be prepared for changes in the weather, from hot to cold, wet to dry and everything else in between. Remember, Austin weather in March can sometimes be unpredictable and dressing in layers is a good idea. If you will be working before you receive your credential (for example, you may be waiting for a Music Badge, but working during Interactive) you will need to pick up a working volunteer day pass from your crew chief. What Else Should Volunteers Know About the SXShuttles Crew: Volunteering with SXShuttles is one of the easiest gigs in the festival! Volunteers can be ambassadors for SXSW or "flight attendants" on a bus. Brush up on all things Austin, as SXShuttles Volunteers are asked all kinds of questions about the event and about the city. How to Contact the SXShuttles Crew: Volunteers who work on the SXShuttles Crew are asked to first email the crew chiefs if you are going to be late, miss a shift or need other assistance, time permitting. The SXShuttles Crew email is sxshuttles@gmail.com. If it's less than 2 hours prior to the start of your shift, first email your crew, then call the Flake Task Force at (512) 404-4623 if you're going to be late or miss the shift.
