61 SX CREATE SX Create Crew Chiefs: Brian, Stephanie, Tony SX Create Days of Operation: March 10 - 13, 2016 SX Create Check In: SX Create Volunteers will check in at the  Palmer Events Center (900 Barton Springs  Road). SX Create Volunteer Responsibilities & Duties: The SX Create Crew is instrumental in  the success of the SX Create event. Crew  members give directions and information to  attendees about the event, monitor speaking  sessions and meet-ups, help vendors with  load in and load out information, and help  manage a satellite venue.  The SX Create volunteers will help attendees  find speaking rooms, direct people to meet- ups, provide general information about SX  Create, and keep a count of the number of  people attending the event. The load in and  load out volunteers will help exhibitors find  the correct booth space, send exhibitors  to the correct venue management for any  problems that may arise, and assist with  light assembly and signage for the event.  Shift leaders for SX Create are responsible  for organizing crew members and  distributing volunteers to their locations and  monitoring volunteers.  What Else Should Volunteers Know About the SX Create Crew: A basic understanding of what is going on  at the SX Create event: SX Create is a do-it- yourself extravaganza filled with wondrous  specialty items only found in a community  such as this. It's basically a lot of cool things  like lasers, 3-D printing, robots, virtual  reality, R2-D2, the TARDIS, and a really cool  DJ. If you are outgoing and friendly you will  have a blast.  SX Create Attire and Reminders: SX Create Volunteers should wear the  SXSW Volunteer t-shirt and tasteful  bottoms. The temperature in the Palmer  Event Center can fluctuate from cold to  hot, so we recommend bringing layers (ex.  hoodie, sweater, jacket) if you tend to get  cold and sensible footwear to keep your  feet comfortable throughout your shift. For  the load in and load out volunteers, a jacket  will be nice as this is an indoor and outdoor  position, and the weather in March tends  to be unpredictable. If you will be working  before you receive your credential (for  example, you may be waiting for a music  badge, but working during Interactive) you  will need to pick up a working volunteer day  pass from your crew chief. How to Contact the SX Create Crew: If you need to contact your SX Create  Crew Chiefs, you can email them at  sxswsxcreate@gmail.com. During the event,  you may also call/text them on their show  phone. Please make sure to first email your  crew chiefs, then call them on their show  phone if you are going to miss your shift  or arrive late. If it's less than 2 hours prior  to the start of your shift, email your crew  first, then call the Flake Task Force at (512)  404-4623 if you're going to be late or miss  the shift.
