60 STAGE CREW RELIEF Stage Crew Relief Crew Chiefs. Art, Rhonda, Steve, Sarah Stage Crew Relief Days of Operation: March 16 - March 19, 2016 Stage Crew Relief Check In: Stage Crew Relief will check in at Ballroom  G in the Austin Convention Center prior to  being deployed to their assigned venue each  evening.  Stage Crew Relief Duties/Areas of Responsibility: Stage crew relief volunteers will fill-in  at various music venues where needed.  Volunteers will assist performers loading  equipment into venues and on/off the stage  during set changes. Volunteers will also help  the venue staff maintain entrance points,  communicate pertinent information to artists, stage managers and staff, as well as  survey the venue for potential problems.  Stage Crew Relief Attire and Reminders: Volunteers should wear the SXSW Volunteer  t-shirt and tasteful bottoms. Close-toed  shoes and layers to accommodate venue  temperature and working environment are  essential to your comfort.   What Else Should Volunteers Know About Stage Crew Relief: Flexibility helps Stage Crew Relief function  most efficiently. Be sure to ask questions  and be aware of your surroundings. Wearing  earplugs will save your hearing, so take  advantage of the free sets provided. A common term that you will hear is,  "backline." This is the equipment that artists  use to perform their set. How to Contact Stage Crew Relief: Email musicfestvols@sxsw.com as soon as you know you will be late and/or missing  your assigned shift.  If it's less than 2 hours  prior to the start of your shift, email the  crew, then call the Flake Task Force at (512)  404-4623 if you're going to be late or miss  the shift.
