44 LOUNGES Lounges Crew Chiefs: Eric, Geoff, Chris, Cat, Jaime, Sanaa, Louis, Larry, Patrick, Jen Lounges Days of Operation: March 7 – 19, 2016 Lounges Check In: During SXSWedu check in outside of Volunteer Central in Exhibit Hall 5 in the Austin Convention Center. During SXSW meet at the San Jacinto Room at the top of the stairs of the Hampton Inn at 200 San Jacinto Blvd. Lounges Crew Duties/Areas of Responsibility: The Lounges Crew responsibilities are simple, but essential. Volunteers will be checking badges and monitoring access to various lounges, activations, and parties. Each location has specific requirements and no two lounges are the same. Volunteers will also be greeting attendees and working with sponsors to ensure a successful event. Lounges Crew Attire and Reminders: Lounges Volunteers should wear the SXSW Volunteer t-shirt and tasteful bottoms. Remember both outdoor and indoor, temperatures fluctuate and layering is recommended. Wearing comfortable shoes and socks is recommended. Some volunteers will be working outside, so be prepared for the temperamental March weather. If you will be working before you receive your credential (for example, you may be waiting for a music badge, but working during Interactive) you will need to pick up a working volunteer day pass from your crew chief. What Else Should Volunteers Know About the Lounges Crew: As long as volunteers have a great attitude, and are responsible and friendly, the Lounges Crew Chiefs will always have your back. Lounges Crew is truly a tight team who have fun and work well together. How to Contact the Lounges Crew: Volunteers who work on the Lounges Crew are asked to first email the crew chiefs if you are going to be late, miss a shift or need other assistance, time permitting. The Lounges Crew email is sxlounges@gmail. com. If it's less than 2 hours prior to the start of your shift, email your crew, then call the Flake Task Force at (512) 404-4623 if you're going to be late or miss the shift.
