43 SXSWedu & INTERACTIVE PANELS SXSWedu & Interactive Panels Crew Chiefs + Staff: Lindy, Karen, Andrea, Sara, Lisa, Maria SXSWedu & Interactive Panels Days of Operation: March 7 – 15, 2016 SXSWedu & Interactive Panels Check In: Volunteers who work on this crew will  check in at the Interactive Panels green  rooms in various downtown venues. SXSWedu & Interactive Panels Crew Duties/Areas of Responsibility: Interactive Panels deals mostly with crowd  and green room management. Some duties  include: monitoring/controlling access  to interactive panels/sessions/keynotes/ etc., checking credentials, being friendly  and helpful/able to answer badgeholder  questions or point them to someone who  can, line management, making sure Press  follows policy, notifying speakers when time  is short and when time is up. Volunteers  may also manage the green room, take care  of speaker requests, and tidy up rooms  between sessions.   SXSWedu & Interactive Panels Crew Attire and Reminders: Interactive Panels Volunteers should wear  the SXSW Volunteer t-shirt and tasteful  bottoms without holes or tears. Remember,  the temperature in the various venues will  fluctuate and layering is recommended.  Wearing comfortable closed-toe shoes with  socks is encouraged. If you will be working  before you receive your credential (for  example, you may be waiting for a music  badge, but working during Interactive) you  will need to pick up a working volunteer day  pass from your crew chief. What Else Should Volunteers Know About the SXSWedu & Interactive Panels Crew: Being on the Interactive Panels crew is all  about being helpful, flexible and the ability  to think quickly on your feet.  Volunteers  should review all handout information from  crew chiefs as well as the SXSW website to  learn more about types of badges, access,  maps of locations, Press access, etc.   Remember to stay hydrated, bring a snack,  stay positive and have fun!  How to Contact the SXSWedu & Interactive Panels Crew: Volunteers who work on the SXSWedu  and Interactive Panels Crew are asked  to first email the crew chiefs if you are  going to be late, miss a shift or need other  assistance, time permitting. The SXSWedu  and Interactive Panels Crew email is  sxiapanels@gmail.com. If it's less than 2  hours prior to the start of your shift, email  your crew, then call the Flake Task Force at  (512) 404-4623 if you're going to be late or  miss the shift.
