36 FILM VENUE STAFF (FVS) Film Venue Staff Crew Chiefs: Don, Ginny, Cat, Ernie, Anival, Courtney,  Natalie, Erik, Greg, Will, Jennifer, Heather,  Javier, Jamie, Trent, Charles Film Venue Staff Days of Operation: March 11 - 19, 2016 Film Venue Staff Check In: Volunteers who work on this crew will  check in at their specific venue. All  volunteers will be assigned to one specific  Film Festival venue. Film Venue Staff Duties/Areas of Responsibility: The role of the Film Venue Staff is to  welcome and assist badge holders in  getting seated promptly at each venue,  and making sure screenings start on time.   They do this by being knowledgeable  and professional about their jobs, while  interacting with the patrons to keep up the  excitement of the festival. Volunteers will  be assigned duties by the theater manager  on duty which will included but not limited  to: checking badges, line management,  counting attendance and collecting tickets/ passes, ushering in patrons, and monitoring  access to the venue.  Film Venue Staff Attire and Reminders: FVS Volunteers should wear the SXSW  Volunteer t-shirt and tasteful bottoms.  Remember, weather in Austin fluctuates, so  layering is recommended since you will be  working inside and outside the venue. Wear  comfortable shoes and socks as you will  be standing or walking most of your shift.  If you will be working before you receive  your credential (for example, you may be  waiting for a music badge, but working  during Interactive) you will need to pick up a  working volunteer day pass from your crew  chief. What Else Should Volunteers Know About Film Venue Staff: FVS Volunteers are the face of the SXSW  Film Festival and often interact with  registrants and filmmakers throughout  the festival. Having a positive attitude and  customer service skills is a must. We like to  have fun, but we are here to work, so leave  your phones in your pocket!  Also, be aware  The Film Festival runs through the entire  week of SXSW, music included. How to Contact the Film Venue Staff Crew: Volunteers who work on the Film Venue  Staff are asked to first email the crew  chiefs if you are going to be late, miss  a shift or need other assistance, time  permitting. The Film Venue Staff Crew email  is sxfilmvenuestaff@gmail.com. If it's less  than 2 hours prior to the start of your shift,  email your crew, then call the Flake Task  Force at (512) 404-4623 if you're going to be  late or miss the shift.
