37 GAMING EXPO Gaming Expo Crew Chiefs: Prentice, Trisha, Paul, Sadie, Sergio, Jason Gaming Expo Days of Operation: March 16 – 19, 2016 Gaming Expo Check In: Volunteers who work on this crew will  check in at the Gaming Expo in Exhibit Hall  1 in the Austin Convention Center (ACC).  Exhibit Hall 1 is located on the southwest  side of the ACC, near the corner of Cesar  Chavez and Trinity Streets.  There will also  be a check in for the VR/AR Track on the 4th  floor of the Hilton Austin Downtown, 500 E.  4th Street.   Gaming Expo Crew Duties/Areas of Responsibility: The role of Gaming Expo volunteers has  expanded this year and besides having a  presence in the Expo itself, volunteers are  also needed at the Gaming Sessions and  the VR/AR Track. Some monitor door entry  and count attendees, while others manage  lines for panelist meet-and-greets. Still  others help manage the Geek Stage or the  Tournament Stage. Some assist those who  run the LAN Party or the board game area.  Others assist by walking around the event  and providing assistance to attendees. And  a few assist the crew chiefs with special  assignments and troubleshooting any minor  problems that could pop up. Gaming Expo Crew Attire and Reminders: Gaming Expo Volunteers should wear  the SXSW Volunteer t-shirt and tasteful  bottoms. Remember, the temperature  fluctuates inside and layering is  recommended. Wearing comfortable  shoes and socks is recommended.  If you  will be working before you receive your  credential (for example, you may be waiting  for a music badge, but working during  Interactive) you will need to pick up a  working volunteer day pass from  Volunteer Central in Exhibit Hall 5. What Else Should Volunteers Know About the Gaming Expo Crew: This is the first year that Gaming Expo  is operating during the days and nights  of music and is housed in the ACC and  the Hilton. There is a lot more to choose  from as a Gaming Expo Volunteer in 2016!  Whichever portion the Gaming Expo you  work in, your basic role remains the same:  making sure the event runs smoothly and  that attendees and exhibitors have fun and  can find what they need.  How to Contact the Gaming Expo Crew: Volunteers who work on the Gaming Expo  Crew are asked to first email the crew chiefs  if you are going to be late, miss a shift or  need other assistance, time permitting. The  Gaming Expo Crew email is sxgamingexpo@ gmail.com.  If it's less than 2 hours prior to  the start of your shift, email your crew, then  call the Flake Task Force at (512) 404-4623 if  you're going to be late or miss the shift.
