35 FILM TRAFFIC Film Traffic Crew Chiefs: Paul, Tomi, Brent, Jeannie, Tina, Ruben Film Traffic Days of Operation: We operate for approximately 4 weeks before the festival, March 6-20, and one week after the festival. Film Traffic Check In: Volunteers who work on this crew will check in at the Film Traffic Center located at 823 Congress Ave., Ste. 1510, Austin, TX 78701. Film Traffic Crew Duties/Areas of Responsibility: The main function of the Film Traffic crew is to effectively circulate the films to the proper venues. It is our job to make sure each film is at the right theater at the right time for each screening. The Film Traffic crew opens a small office downtown where we build a temporary library of the films. Volunteers work out of this office and should expect to help catalogue (via basic data entry) each film. Other basic office organizational skills are helpful. Film Traffic Attire and Reminders: Film Traffic Volunteers should wear the SXSW Volunteer t-shirt and tasteful bottoms. Please remember to wear comfortable shoes, and to bring layers as the Film Traffic Center can run cold. If you will be working before you receive your credential (for example, you may be waiting for a music badge, but working during Interactive) you will need to pick up a working volunteer day pass from your crew chief. What Else Should Volunteer Know About the Film Traffic Crew: We have a small, tight-knit crew that plays a really important role in the festival. It's a great crew to be on, and integral to the success of the SXSW Film Festival. How to Contact the Film Traffic Crew: Volunteers who work on Film Traffic Crew should email the crew chief on duty if you are going to be late, miss a shift or need other assistance, time permitting. The Film Traffic Center email is sxfilmtech@gmail. com. If it's less than 2 hours prior to the start of your shift, email your crew, then call the Flake Task Force at (512) 404-4623 if you're going to be late or miss the shift.
