C O M PREVIEW GUIDE SXSW Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake The SXSW Music Festival's free and open to the public outdoor showcases will be held at the SXSW Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake, formerly the Auditorium Shores Stage. SXSW's largest stage hosts three nights of charity beneficiary concerts with more than 50,000 attendees Thursday through Saturday of SXSW Music. A one-day program exploring the opportunities and challenges for startups across North America, South America, Spain, Portugal and Central America. Startup Village Startup Village brings startups, entrepreneurs, investors, and innovative tastemakers within the SXSW Interactive Festival together to examine a broad spectrum of topics in the startup space, including startup funding, startup ecosystems, and entrepreneurial best practices. The programming track is also the home of SXSW Accelerator pitch competitions that showcase the most cutting- edge startup companies in the world. Features Include: Accelerator In its 8th year, Startup Village's signature pitch competition will take place on Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13 at the Downtown Hilton. Of the 305 companies who participated in SXSW Accelerator between 2009 and 2015, over 63% received funding, with a combined total in excess of $2.6 billion in investment and13% have been acquired by the likes of Google, British Telecom, Huffington Post, Apple, Live Nation, OpenTable, Constant Contact, and Harmon. ReleaseIt To be held on the opening day of the SXSW Interactive Festival, on Friday, March 11 at the Downtown Hilton, in this special pitch competition, ten cutting-edge companies launching a new product or service during the 2016 SXSW season will present to a panel of industry experts. Collegiate Track Introduced in 2015, Startup Village brings back the Collegiate Track, showcasing some of the world's most innovative collegiate entrepreneurial programs and startups. To be held on Sunday, March 13 and Monday, March 14 at the Downtown Hilton, announced sessions for 2016 include topics from Princeton University, University of Tokyo, Huston- Tillotson University, Monterrey Institute of Technology, and more! Film Happy Hours are back! Daily SXSW Film Happy Hours return to the InterContinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel, located next door to the Paramount Theatre, from 5-7 pm in the Terrace Bar.
