We screened in one of my favorite theaters, and the audience seemed to truly connect with the film. It was so, so humbling, and it makes me cry just thinking about it. It was a whirlwind and the best week of my life. Now, our little movie is heading to Cannes! - Trey Shults (Director, Krisha) I was out in Austin this year for 12 days and stayed for all of Interactive and Music. Whenever my time out there started to feel like a marathon, the spark of excitement in the air would boost me and keep my energy flowing! SXSW is truly the best place to reach everyone trying to move culture, in one swoop. - Jesse Kirshbaum (Nue Agency, CRWN) M y co-worker Elizabeth and I had a fantastic time and learned so much. We attended nearly 30 sessions each (and only overlapped in two!) – it was so valuable for us. Our mission has been to make this experience valuable for all of College Possible. We shared presenta- tions with our takeaways from South By to our entire staff ... as I'd hoped, we've learned ways to more effectively reach and engage our stu- dents, our donors and prospective donors. - Anna Rockne (College Possible, SXSW Interactive Scholarship Winner) W hen I first got to SXSW I was a bit intimi- dated by the sheer size of the festival, but I was quickly put at ease by the warmth and generosity of the audiences at all of our screen- ings. Winning the SXGlobal Audience Award was a great honor and a gift for the brave resi- dents of the flooded town of San Marcos. -Betzabé Garcia (Director, Kings of Nowhere) T hank you to all the amazing staff and vol- unteers. SXSW's commitment to rewarding risks has made it the world's best watering hole for filmmakers to inspire each other. - Benjamin Wiessner (Producer, The Grief of Others)
