Firebrand filmmaker Ondi Timoner returns to SXSW to world premiere her latest documen- tary, BRAND: A Second Coming, an intimate, whirlwind portrait of comedian, author and activist, Russell Brand. Chosen as our 2015 Opening Night Film, it dives into the eye of the celebrity storm with Brand as he grapples with fame, influence and where we are as a 21st century society: Friday, March 13, at the Paramount Theatre (713 Congress Ave). BBC Introducing and PRS Co-present Showcase at SXSW 2015 BBC Introducing and the PRS For Music Foundation will co-present a special event at the British Music Embassy on Wednesday, March 18. The lineup features some of the best up- and-coming names in U.K. music, including electronic producer Jack Garratt, rapper and actress Little Simz, Transgressive Records indie-rockers Gengahr and more. SXSW Music will feature some of the best DJs in electronic and hip-hop music alongside an immersive, interactive installation of sculptures, objects and audio elements that riff on the "boombox," the 1980s hip-hop culture's street badge of honor. SXSW Interactive Hall of Fame to Honor Tamara Hudgins The SXSW Interactive Hall of Fame honors for- ward-thinking innovators whose careers have shaped and charted the way forward for the connected world. This year, we honor Tamara Hudgins, Ph.D., the Executive Director of Girlstart, whose mission is to increase girls' interest and engagement in STEM through such education programs as Girlstart After School programs and Summer Camp. The SXSW Interactive Hall of Fame induction ceremony is part of the SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards event, which takes place on Tuesday, March 17 on the 6th floor of the Hilton Austin Downtown. In addition to the induc- tion, the awards ceremony will honor the best and latest innovative advancements of 2014 in a number of categories, along with the Breakout Trend of the Event and the Speaker of the Event.
