The Discovery Stage at the SXSW Trade Show and SXSW Gaming A new segment of the trade show, the Discovery Stage will feature a daily slate of seven, one-hour slots from exhibitors covering topics ranging from tech to entertainment to social impact. For SXSW Gaming, the Discovery Stage (formerly known as the Geek Stage) will host fan-focused panels, discussions, presentations and announcements. Job Market Stage to Host Live Competitions The Job Market Stage, inside the SXSW Job Market, will host live competitions. Winners will receive a Platinum Badge to SXSW 2018 or 2019. In addition, the Job Market Stage will offer sessions for both jobseekers and exhibitors who are hiring. Events include "Avoid the 'Oh Shit' Moment: Find the Right Job" and "How to Help the Newbie: Demystifying Day One." The Return of the Hackathon The SXSW Hackathon returns for its 5th year. Over a hundred hackers will collaborate to build tech in three categories: Film, VR/AR, and Music, with cash prizes for the top three projects. Sign Up for Workshops Part of the Government track, the "Run As You Are" workshop will feature three leaders of the #RunAsYouAre movement and will offer an insider's perspective on running for office from the grassroots level. Workshops are RSVP based and require advance sign up. Waitlist is available if reserved space is full.
