SXSW Trade Show: The Exhibiton for Creative Industries. SXSW Exhibitions THROUGHOUT THE 4-DAY TRADE SHOW, many people spotted conference attendees running around in bright yellow t-shirts, holding Super 8 cameras from the Kodak booth. Kodak part- nered with Pro8mm, a Super 8 lab and scanning facility, to host an idea called "Do A Shot with Pro8mm & Kodak." Instead of just having super 8 cameras on tripods like we always do at trade shows, Pro8mm brought a bunch of Canon 814 xls Super 8 camera Bed Stu exhibit at the 1st annual Style X. and let people go around the expo and shoot for an hour. The fi lm from the 80 shooters was returned to Pro8mm's lab in Burbank, processed, scanned in native 1080 to Pro Res 422 HQ, and then edited Flatstock 29 onto one reel (available for a small fee). The results were amazing! Many of the people who participated had never shot super 8 fi lm – or any fi lm at all for that matter – and to get this kind of result blew us away. As you watch the footage, just like when Super 8 was used for home movies, the POV is so intimate, personal and dis- tinct. http://www.youtube. com/watch?v=hkLZ1R7ulK8 – Jaclyn Vigeant (Pro8mm) The Roland exhibit at Gear Alley.
