First Wave of Film Panels Announced for 2012! Notes News & Call For Entries Filmmakers! Join the ranks of the tal- ented new faces and unique voices that populate the SXSW Film pro- gram. The next deadline to submit your fi lm is Tuesday, November 1, 2011, but take note that we have changed our submissions schedule due to an increased number of sub- missions and a tight turnaround time. Our late, FINAL submission deadline is now Tuesday, November 15, 2011. This will allow us to continue to give every submission the careful consideration it deserves. Also, deadlines are now on a "Received By" basis, which means that all 2012 fi lm submissions must arrive at the SXSW offi ces no later than November 15, 2011. Sure to be lively and engaging, panels will cover such topics as "Coppola vs. Kittens: Pro Filmmaking's Online Future," "The Evolution of the Douchebag in Modern Cinema" and "The GeekFamily Guide to the Movies" among others. "I Thought We Were Friends" panel Crossover Panels In SXSW, 2011 featured 16 crossover panels aimed at addressing many of the compelling and timely topics where the fi lm and interactive industries inter- sect. These panels return for 2012 and again will be open to all Film, Interactive and Gold badgeholders. Exciting crossover panels for 2012 include digital polymath Austin Kleon's "Everything is a Remix; So Steal Like an Artist," as well as "Reinventing the Graphic Novel for the iPad," "HTML for Film: Leading Edge or Bleeding Edge" and many more.
