I had a great time co-hosting a speaking panel along with mas- tering engineer Michael Romanowski with guests Tony Maserati and Mark Needham. Together we all discussed the blurred lines that exist between mixing and mastering to a full house of budding engineers and producers that frequent the annual SXSW event. What was most notable during the event this year was the visit by President Obama. He was there to promote ideas and ideals to a group of emerging young professionals… that he chose SXSW as a platform is a testament to what the organizers have tirelessly built over the years to help serve the new generations of emerging professionals. — Gavin Lurssen (Lurssen Mastering) A s seasoned SXSW Interactive veterans, we thought we knew what was in store, but this year the organizers really outdid themselves. From the minute we touched down in Austin, the atmosphere was electric. While our display of high-quality promotional products generated major foot traffic, it was our social mission, employing at-risk adults, that compelled people to stick around and ask questions. We found little time to wander the aisles of the Austin Convention Center, but what we did see didn't fail to impress. From scoring a sweet NASA enamel pin to diving into the world of virtual reality, our minds were blown by the exhibitors. Hands down, SXSW Interactive is our favorite event of the year and continues to be a solid investment for our company. — Kevin McCracken (COO/Co-Founder, Social Imprints) S E A N M AT H I S / G E T T Y I M A G E S N E I L S O N B A R N A R D / G E T T Y I M A G E S N E I L S O N B A R N A R D / G E T T Y I M A G E S M I K E W I N D L E / G E T T Y I M A G E S K A R A M O S H E R
