Meanwhile, The Majestic will fea- ture Nashville's newest crop including Ryan Beaver, Liza Anne and Aubrie Sellers, sharing the night with Ireland's Ciaran Lavery and Austin's Paul Cauthen … all playing with Cody Chesnutt! Also, check out the new incarna- tion of Antone's for a night of country and rock headlined by Ron Pope, Jonathan Tyler and none other than Leon Russell! Remembering Viola Beach As SXSW Music welcomes all the showcasing artists who have come to Austin this year, we also remember one that we wish could be here. Warrington, U.K. band Viola Beach was slated to make its U.S. debut at SXSW this week, but tragically on February 13, the four band members and their manager were killed in a car accident while touring in Sweden. On Wednesday at 8pm, during what would have been the band's slot on the BBC Introducing showcase at the British Music Embassy at Latitude 30 (512 San Jacinto Blvd), people are invited to come and pay their respects. Renee Zellweger to Present SIMS Set At Austin Music Awards 2016 The Austin Chronicle and SXSW proudly present the 34th annual Austin Music Awards on Wednesday in the Grand Ballroom at the Hilton Austin Downtown, benefitting the SIMS Foundation. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the SIMS Foundation provides access and financial support for mental health and addic- tion recovery to Austin musicians, music industry professionals, and their family members. Longtime supporter and UT-Austin alumnus Renee Zellweger will kick off the event with a special presentation.
