59 STAGE CREW Stage Crew Staff: Sarah Spivey, Lizzie Whitington,  Kayla Morin (intern) Stage Crew Days of Operation: March 15 - March 19, 2016 Stage Crew Check In: Stage crew volunteers check in each night  with their stage manager at their assigned  venue. Stage Crew Duties/Areas of Responsibility: Stage Crew Volunteers will assist  performers loading equipment into venues  and on/off the stage during set changes.  Volunteers will also help the venue staff  maintain entrance points, communicate  pertinent information to artists, stage  managers and staff, as well as survey the  venue for potential problems.  Stage Crew Volunteers are assigned to one  of the official SXSW Music Festival venues,  and will work in the same venue each night.  Stage Crew Attire and Reminders: Volunteers should wear the SXSW Volunteer  t-shirt and tasteful bottoms. Close-toed  shoes and layers to accommodate venue  temperature and working environment are  essential to your comfort.   What Else Should Volunteers Know About Stage Crew: Flexibility helps Stage Crew function most  efficiently. Be sure to ask questions and  be aware of your surroundings. Wearing  earplugs will save your hearing, so take  advantage of the free sets provided. A common term that you will hear is,  "backline." This is the equipment that artists  use to perform their set. How to Contact Stage Crew: Email musicfestvols@sxsw.com as soon as you know you will be late and/or missing  your assigned shift. If you have your stage  manager's phone number, please promptly  inform them of your absence or late arrival,  so that they're able to request support prior  to load in of the venue. If it's less than 2  hours prior to the start of your shift, email  your crew, then call the Flake Task Force at  (512) 404-4623 if you're going to be late or  miss the shift.
