57 SPECIAL VENUES CREW (SVC) SVC Staff and Crew Chiefs: Todd P, Thorr, Cari, George, Catherine, John,  Bruce, Tim Sr., Tim Jr., Fish, Craig, Bob,  JP, Jennifer, Jamar, Johnny, Amy, Lucy,  Lynda R, Damian, Nate, Alexa, Marc,  Linda T, Shermay, Alan (Comms Center),  James, Boris, Xtina, Mijoe, Diamond SVC Days of Operation: March 11 – 20, 2016 SVC Check In: During IA/Film, meet at the location you  are scheduled, which is designated in  Shiftboard (usually The Paramount Theater  or one of the SXSW parties we help with.)  On music nights, meet at the Hilton Garden  Inn at 5th and the IH-35 Service Road in  the Creekside Room. The entrance is on 5th  street. SVC Crew Duties/Areas of Responsibility: SVC is a roaming volunteer team that assist  venues in need of additional crowd support.  Volunteers handle lines and crowds outside  of official venues. Crew members are not  assigned to a specific venue but instead  assist at any location as needed. In addition,  this crew has a bike team that rides  throughout the downtown area assisting  with crowd control.  Special Venues Crew Attire and Reminders: SVC Volunteers should wear their SVC Crew  t-shirt, hat, and tasteful bottoms. Volunteers  will be working outside, so be prepared for  changes in the weather, from hot to cold,  wet to dry and everything else in between.  Remember, Austin weather in March can  sometimes be unpredictable and dressing in  layers is a good idea. If you will be working  before you receive your credential (for  example, you may be waiting for a music  badge, but working during Interactive) you  will need to pick up a working volunteer day  pass from your crew chief. What Else Should Volunteers Know About the Special Venues Crew: We move around a lot. Don't bring anything  with you you're unwilling to carry with you  all night. Wear comfortable, close-toed  shoes! Leave the flip-flops and high heels  at home! We don't necessarily stay at the  venue we start out at. We're very visible -  smile!  How to Contact the SVC Crew: Volunteers who work on the Special  Venues Crew are asked to first email the  crew chiefs if you are going to be late,  miss a shift or need other assistance, time  permitting. The Special Venues Crew email  is sxspecialvenues@gmail.com. If it's less  than 2 hours prior to the start of your shift,  first email your crew, then call the Flake  Task Force at (512) 404-4623 if you're going  to be late or miss the shift.  Your staff and  crew chiefs will also provide phone numbers  for them on-site.
