Some notable highlights included an amazing Opening Night Party at Hyde Bellagio, Keynotes from Banjo CEO Damien Patton and reality show Bazillion Dollar Club co-hosts Brady Forrest and Dave McClure, as well as the 3rd annual V2Venture startup competition. 2015 Grulke Prize Winners Update The Grulke Prize, awarded in three categories, was developed in honor of our friend and col- league Creative Director Brent Grulke, who passed away on August 13, 2012. It's been a busy summer for our SXSW 2015 winners: Leon Bridges (Developing US Act): Since taking SXSW by storm last March, this Fort Worth, Texas soul crooner released his debut album, Coming Home, to critical and commercial acclaim. While growing into an international star, Bridges has also made big strides at home, including an Austin City Limits taping in October. Courtney Barnett (Developing Non-US Act): The Australian singer-songwriter released her debut full-length, titled Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, right at the end of SXSW Music 2015 to worldwide critical praise. With mul- tiple tours and festivals in the U.S., Europe and her home country already under her belt in 2015, she doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon. Spoon (Career Act): Austin's own Spoon returned with their eighth studio album, They Want My Soul, in 2014. Since performing at SXSW 2015, including a show in front of over 20,000 people at Auditorium Shores, Spoon hit the road for sev- eral dates in North and South America. The band rocked huge crowds at Bonnaroo, Sasquatch and more festivals along the way. Previous Grulke Prize Winners have included: Future Islands, The Strypes, Damon Albarn, Haim, Chvrches, The Flaming Lips.
