Four all-star sets punctuate the event, including Lone Star song laureate Billy Joe Shaver and his band, homegrown artists like Gary Clark Jr., Phranchyze and Elias Haslanger, covers of Texas standards by Gina Chavez, Dana Falconberry and more, and a tribute to Ian McLagan featuring Patty Griffin, Alejandro Escovedo and the Bump Band. Film Conference in Full Swing Don't forget, the SXSW Film Conference is in full swing through Tuesday. Diverse Selection of World Music Showcases at SXSW Music The SXSW Music Festival takes pride in programming the best collection of artists from all over the world. This year's presenters include Sounds from Uruguay, Sounds from Spain, the first-ever Pakistan showcase at SXSW, globalFEST, Trinidad and Tobago, Japan Nite, SXAmericas: Kichink On, KOCCA and more.
