They didn't miss a beat with guiro in the dark, while the soundman returned power to the party. Jaws dropped during the rocki- fied Iraqi Jewish melodies of Dudu Tassa. Roots reggae artist Taj Weekes turned the sellout crowd into professional success by signing with Sweetwine agency after months of courting, while Curacao's K.i.T. jackhammered their way into the hearts of American dancers. - Dmitri Vietze (rock, paper, scissors PR) S XSW 2014 continued the tradition of being the place to be for breaking new artists, as well as great venues, music, and food. - Rico Brooks (Manager of showcasing artist Que) T he vibe from SXSW is unbelievably original and authentic. It's quite amazing when so many like-minded people come together to celebrate and share their ideas, innovations, art and music. It's as if, at times, that energy was lifting me as I went to each venue, and it didn't seem like one venue could be topped until I went to the next one! On Saturday at Butler Park, it was as if God was present when the overcast skies parted, the sun shone, a rainbow was in the sky, and the crowd was pulsating to Snoop col- laborating with William Bell and the Hi Rhythm Section house band. Suddenly, there was no more threat of rain and only joy filled the air with magic and excitement. SXSW is an American original that resounds around the world. Nobody does it better and there is nothing like it. - Martin Shore (Director: Take Me To The River)  1 Dudu Tassa on the International Day Stage  2 Los Rakas at the Mexican American Cultural Center at the Pan Americana Showcase  3 Renegade Craft Fair: SXSW Edition was held at the Palmer Events Center  4 Sunday Barbecue and Softball  5 SXSW Softball Tournament at Kreig Field M E R R I C K A L E S
