Relive Great Moments from SXSW Interactive 2014 With so much going on during SXSW Interactive this year, you were bound to miss something that you wanted to see. Never fear! Guitarists Loved the Deli StompBox Exhibit Guitar pedals — or "stompboxes" — have expe- rienced a worldwide boom in sales and interest , with new companies and products vying for the attention of guitarists hoping to expand their sonic palettes. Hosted in a huge 30x20 foot booth at the SXSW Gear Expo, the inaugural Deli StompBox Exhibit (presented by Guitar World) attracted thousands of guitarists, who compared 200-plus pedals by such manufacturers as T-Rex, DigiTech, Strymon, EarthQuaker Devices, Walrus Audio, AnalogMan and many others. Beginning in August, Enter Your Digital Projects in the SXSW Interactive Awards SXSW Interactive is all about creativity and inspi- ration, and the SXSW Interactive Awards are a fun way to showcase these key components. The competition highlights the newest and coolest projects from the digital community. Winners are announced during the Interactive Festival at the SXSW Interactive Awards Ceremony. Entries for the 2015 competition will be accepted beginning in August, so stay tuned to the SXSW Interactive website for updated information the entry pro- cess: sxsw.com/interactive. Call for Film Entries Opens in August It might seem like a long way off, but August will arrive quickly for aspiring filmmakers. Why not head to sxsw.com/film/screenings/submit and learn about the submissions process, including fees and deadlines. Before you know it, the mid- November entry deadline will arrive! Bikeshare Usage Records Set During SXSW Austin B-cycle reported record-breaking numbers for its bikeshare program during SXSW. On March 14, there were 10.1 checkouts per bike, which was a U.S. bikeshare system record, with 6.4 checkouts per bike/day averaged between March 7-16. Local records were also set with 17,724 total bike checkouts and 7,501 day passes sold. Overall, users rode a total of 22,744 miles. SXSW V2V Gears Up For Year Two The community voting phase for the SXSW V2V PanelPicker has concluded for 2014. That means that we will make programming announcements in the coming weeks, with the bulk of the SXSW V2V 2014 lineup announced via sxswv2v.com on May 21. In the meantime, the V2V crew is hitting the road for the SXSW V2V Summer Community Meet Up Tour. Leading up to the July 13-16, 2014 event in Las Vegas, we are visiting strong startup and entre- preneur communities around the country to find out more about them.
