2 4 S X S W O R L D / M A Y 2 0 1 4 M y favorite South By memory was meeting a teenage girl named Jessica after the premiere of I Believe In Unicorns. She thanked me for making a film that "gives young women strength and makes them feel that they can be whoever they want to be." In that moment, I felt validated as a filmmaker and inspired to continue to tell stories with strong female lead characters. We walked together to the after party, where costumed unicorns on stilts doused us in glitter.
