Accelerator Awards on Sunday Evening Startups and entrepreneurs from around the world come to Austin in March. Much of the startup ecosystem revolves around SXSW Accelerator, a two-day pitch competition for newly-launched applications, companies and services. We're pleased to bring a small taste of the Netherlands to SXSW with our very first ADE showcase, featuring producers and DJs from Dutch labels Rush Hour and Rwina. These two Amsterdam-based labels have released recordings by such key house, techno and experimental artists as Carl Craig, Tyree Cooper, Alden Tyrell, Tom Trago, Hunee, Jameszoo, Kramphaft, and U.S.-based producer Starkey. Digital Music Lounge The newest tech and music mash-up at the SXSW Trade Show is the Digital Music Lounge, an umbrella space for digital music companies. Meet and mingle with innovative music tech start-ups, such as Fastfan, Rock Lobby, Vicci, and FanKloud, who are focused on everything from utilizing social media for music discovery to buying band merch from your mobile device and more. 10 Doc of the Dead Director: Alexandre O. Philippe This zombie culture documentary from the makers of The People vs. George Lucas, Doc of the Dead traces the rise and evolution of the zombie genre and investigates the possibility of an actual zombie outbreak. COSMOS: A SpaceTime Odyssey (Special Event with Neil deGrasse Tyson) Director: Brannon Braga SXsports Kick-Off Reception Celebrating the new SXsports programming is the SXsports Kick-Off Reception, Presented by Octagon, from 6–8pm at Chicago House (607 Trinity St.) on Friday, March 7.
