This year, AAMPP made a few sacrifi ces to attend the 2013 SXSW Trade Show. It was the best decision we have made as a young company. We are now convinced that events like SXSW are a pivotal step for any start up company looking to gain traction for their business. — Garth Soshahi, AAMPP -I was working at the Post-it® Big Pad booth at the SXSW tradeshow and there was Shaquille O'Neal. larger than life. I knew SHAQ and the BIG PAD was a photo op that couldn't be missed. The advertising agency lens/vent is gone, and the focus on how digital technologies are shaping life seems to have taken root in the definition of SXSW. Even the trade show floor participants were more applied. —Martha Gimbut (Gimbut and Associates) -Seymour Duncan had never been to the SXSW Music Gear Expo, so the excitement and wonder of what the outcome could be was similar to the anticipation of a first date. As it turned out, our date with Gear Expo went way better than expected. The steady stream of SXSW attendees had seriously insightful feedback that isn't obtainable at "industry only" trade shows.
