SXSWorld

For me, this year's SXSW was fi lled with highlights. Even enjoyed the masses on 6th Street; it reminded me of the Sunset Strip in the '60s. Saw the movie about Freda, the Beatles secretary. She and the movie were a gas. Saw that crazy doc about the rockabilly kids in Boss Angeles. Saw the Swampers, Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell and James Hunter on the same night. Emmylou did "Pancho and Lefty." How can you top that? Hanging with Spooner Oldham can just about do that. Kelly Hogan, Rosie Flores, Laura Cantrell, Christi Rose and Holly George-Warren talking about Patsy and Kitty was special too. So was dancing to Ozomatli and getting called out from the stage by my Silverlake neighbor Will Dogg. Of course getting seriously FUNKED UP by Mr. Purple himself was the cherry on top. And I can't forget Vintage Trouble driving those four little girls standing in front of me MAD. Like I always say, "I don't mind dying BUT I don't want leave Paris and I don't want miss SXSW."
