VR/AR at SXSW As virtual reality is being integrated with other art forms to be experienced in a group setting, a new phenomenon called Immersive Art is emerging. Scheduled VR/AR track sessions on this subject include: "Making It Real: Tangible Worlds of Storytelling" with Vince Kadlubek, Delaney Martin, Ted Schilowitz and Brandon Oldenburg, and "Brave New World: The Future of Theatre and Tech" with participants from the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Arts Council England. Workplace Track Work-life balance will be in the spotlight during the Workplace track with "It's Time: Find Alignment & Abandon Work-Life Balance" with Dawna Ballard. The voice of women will be prominent in such sessions as "The Post - 50/50 Workforce" featuring Marne Levine (COO of Instagram) and Valerie Jarrett (former Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama), "Transitioning Vets: From Battlefield to Tech Career" with Ann Weebly, and "Tech-no-Color: Advancing Women of Color in Tech" with LaFawn Davis. Music Conference Programming Music Industry tracks will cover a wide range of important issues and will feature such top-level speakers as Lyor Cohen, Keith D'Arcy, Bob Bruderman, Scott Pappas, and Daniel Glass. Meet thought leaders from emerging global music markets in such sessions as "A Holistic Approach to China's Music Industry," "African Music Goes Live" and "The Latin American Tastemaker: Tech and Culture." And don't forget music-fo- cused conference Meet Ups, including "EDM Producer/Song Writer/Vocalist Meet Up," "Music Publishing Meet Up," and "College Booking Meet Up." Startup & Tech Sectors Highlights of the Startup & Tech Sectors track will include "The New Collar Revolution" featuring former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, "Innovate the Nordic Way: Solve Real Problems" featuring HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, and "Fighting The Demise of Net Neutrality w/Innovation," which will discuss the the Federal Communications Commission's recent repeal of net neutrality rules. Kathryn Finney, will discuss how women investors are changing the entrepreneurial land- scape during "Why Black Women are 2018's Best Investment." Style Track Highlights Highlights of Style track sessions include "RompHims and Boyfriend Jeans: Ungendering Fashion" in which Jacob Tobia and panelists will dissect how gendered terms perpetuate harmful gender stereotypes. In "Fashion Retail and Social Justice in a Red State," Megan Hunt and Sara Lorsung Tvrdik will discuss entrepreneurship's intersec- tion with activism and politics. Scott Lachut and Lee Hnentika will examine "The Future of the Shopping Center," and don't miss "Style for All: Universal Designed Clothing" with Open Style Lab's Grace Jun. Marne Levine. Photo by Rebecca Reid The Cities Summit The Cities Summit will explore the urban future through three focus areas: Cities of Innovation, Cities as Narrative and Cities for All. Sessions will include "Reimagining the Civic Commons," with artist and preservationist Theaster Gates, "What Happened to Our Chocolate Cities?", "Food as a Platform for Neighborhood Revitalization," "Invasive Spirits, Fermentation the City Wild," with Harvard's Metalab, "From Publishing City Data to Solving Problems," "Branded Cities: Can We Avoid an Urban Dystopia?" with Trevor Hardy of the Future Laboratory, and the "Women Led Cities: Co-Creating a Feminist City" Meet Up.
