Latin Music Explodes at SXSW Man or Astroman? to Reunite at SXSW It's true! After a long hiatus, the theatrical, new wavey, Alabama surf rock band will grace one of the 80+ stages at SXSW 2010. This is huge news to not only the band's fan base, but also to the legions of young folks who come to SXSW every year and may not have been able to experience its brilliance live. Anita Tijoux Amaral Another genre that has been growing every year at SXSW is Latin music. 2010 is no different, as major headliners, including Mexico's Maldita Vecindad and Brazil's Mundo Livre SA, will bring the house down wherever they play. In addition to those big names, SXSW will host Anita Tijoux, Funky-C, The Ganjas, Casino and Intimate Stranger – all from Chile, as well as Amaral, Los Planetas, Unfinished Sympathy, Nudozurdo and Tom Cary – all from Spain, and La 33 and Superlitio from Colombia. Internet Radio Giant WOXY.com to Present First-Ever Official SXSW Showcase Twin Tigers Having recently relocated its headquarters to Austin from its hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio, WOXY.com is quickly taking the city by storm and presenting some of the finest musical talent from Texas and the rest of the world. Hip-Hop at SXSW Grows Exponentially Jay Reatard performs at SXSW 2008 RIP Jay Reatard Sadly, SXSW Music staff favorite Jimmy Lee Lindsey Jr., aka Jay Reatard, was found dead in his Memphis home on January 13. He was 29. The bluesy, off kilter punk star was loved the world over and was set to play SXSW once again in 2010. We will miss him tremendously.
