The Scottish Government has earmarked £2.25 million in sup- port of cultural activities ranging from dance and music projects to filmmaking funded from money seized from criminals. This takes the overall investment in youth activi- ties pledged through this scheme to more than £20 million so far. As the result of a yearlong partner- ship between Shutterstock and charity: water, Shutterstock is funding wells to bring safe drinking water to hundreds of Ethiopians. Watchitoo recently launched the first embeddable collabora- tion platform, which has been integrated into websites of organizations such as Mashable, Popular Science and NBC, enabling them to power live events and engage thousands of viewers through webcams and interactive content. Watchitoo will be the sponsor and live streaming partner of the Next Stage at SXSW 2011. The iTourU is a rising player from Australia in the mobile loca- tion based service space with its mobile and web platform, which allows users to create, publish and consume geo-tagged audio tours. Tour the world in audio on your phone, and be social about it with fellow tourists. Gowalla recently announced a new partner- ship with the Sundance Film Festival that will offer users the opportunity to win a free flight and festival prizes. Be sure to check in to official SXSW events this March with Gowalla and the new SXSWGO mobile app. Songtrust is the first online solu- tion that empowers songwriters to take control of their music publishing rights by simplifying the process of song registra- tion and royalty collections. Mississippi Blues Trail will beat a path to SXSW 2011. The trail highlights more than 120 sites throughout Mississippi and across the U.S. honoring blues legends and significant places.
