SXSW 2011 Trade Show Meet The City SXSW Trade Show: The Exhibition for Creative Industries T of Austin The City of Austin will help open the Exhibition for Creative Industries on Monday, March 14. Mayor Lee Leffingwell and other officials will deliver opening remarks on the Next Stage during the opening ceremony and speak with attendees at the first meet up of the trade show. The City of Austin also will welcome visitors to its trade show booth. certainly will be bustling with activity from open to close on Monday, March 14 through Thursday, March 17. Below are just a few of the outstanding features that will be offered. he SXSW Trade Shows of past years will be united and reborn, as the four-day Exhibition for Creative Industries brings the film, interactive and music business worlds together under one roof at the Austin Convention Center. With up to 40,000 registrants set to attend SXSW this March, the exhibition from 5 - 6pm daily, the SXsaloon is a great location for impromptu meetings and casual mingling. SXSW Hiring Hub Powered by Next Stage Meet Up Pavilion The Meet Up Pavilion will be the center of interaction within the bustling trade show hall, a hub within a hub. Meet Ups unite groups of people to promote both personal and professional growth. The pavilion will play host to two meet-ups daily, one at 12:30pm and one at 3pm. The Next Stage is wholly dedicated to hosting integrated, entertaining and educa- tional programming with the goal of forging convergent bonds among registrants and their represented industries. From 12pm to 6pm throughout the four-day exhibition, the Next Stage will play host to engaging perfor- mances of all kinds, from music and comedy to demonstrations and interviews. This year's SXSW Hiring Hub Powered by Monster.com is designed to help match talent with employers and will be located near the Next Stage. Block Party SXsaloon 60 The SXsaloon is much more than just a "trade show bar." Offering refreshments throughout the four days of the Trade Show and hosting the ever-popular happy hours SXSW ORLD / F EBRUAR Y 2011 The SXSW Trade Show Block Party events return by popular demand. Crafted along the lines of a traditional pub crawl, exhibitors are given an opportunity to act as a "pub stop," serving complimentary drinks and snacks for registrants at their stand. This open house atmosphere creates a relaxed and convivial environment for networking and conversa- tion among exhibitors and registrants. The Block Party will be held on Tuesday, March 15 at 4pm.
