Tomorrow Happens Here: New and Improved for 2011 SXSW 2011 What's New New Film Venues SXSW Film has added new screening venues, including the downtown State Theater and the Rollins Theater. Visit sxsw.com/film for news and updates. SXSW Comedy This year, SXSW Comedy will extend over all three confer- ences, allowing all badgeholders to attend showcases. Events include live tapings of top comedy podcasts and special stand-up showcases. Showcases will run from Saturday, March 12 to Tuesday, March 15, and conclude on Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19. Tuesday Music Showcases For the first time, SXSW Music will offer a slate of music show- cases on Tuesday night. Stay tuned to sxsw.com/music for the schedule of artists appearing on Tuesday, March 15. Three Day Stages This year, registrants can see live events on one of three day stages in the Austin Convention Center. The Next Stage presents performances, discussions, demos and debates right on the trade show floor. All events will be live streamed by Watchitoo. SXSW will partner with award-winning radio stations like KEXP (Seattle), KCRW (Los Angeles), WXPN (Philadelphia) and Austin's own KUT to present live performance broadcasts from the SXSW Radio Day Stage. Located in Ballroom D on the fourth floor of the Austin Convention Center, the SXSW Radio Day Stage will run from Wednesday, March 16 through Saturday, March 19. SESAC will sponsor the SXSW Dot Com Stage, which also will feature a stellar lineup of showcasing artists. The Dot Com Stage will be located in Ballroom G on Level 4 of the Austin Convention Center, and also will run from Wednesday through Saturday. SUMMIT TECHNOLOGY SXSW Technology Summit The first-ever SXSW Technology Summit, open to all registered SXSW badgeholders and held on March 16 and 17, will bring together industry leaders from a variety of European, Asian, Middle- Eastern and South American countries and offer a series of in-depth workshops for digital pro- fessionals and web experts. SXswag SXswag To be more ecologically responsible, this year SXSW will replace the old big bags with a new digital bag of delights called SXswag. SXswag is an online swag redemption and distribution portal for all SXSW reg- istrants. New items will be added for download and delivery through the event in March. LISTEN TO THE SXSW Player on The SXSW Player SXSW has partnered with SHOUTcast to present The SXSW Player, which will broadcast the best of SXSW 2011 via internet radio. Style X Meet Up Pavillion Located directly across from SXsaloon in the bustling Exhibition For Creative Industries in Exhibit Halls 3 and 4, the Meet Up Pavilion will offer networking opportunities for attendees with two daily events (12:30pm and 3pm) during all four days of the trade show. SXSW 2011 will host Style By: Emerging Fashion from Around the World, a new fashion event fea- turing dozens of up-and-coming brands and fashion designers from around the world. Celebrate the long-standing relationship between music and style at the Austin Convention Center on Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19. This event will be open to the public. SXSW Accelerator's Music Competition This year, SXSW Accelerator has added a competition in the Music- Related Technology category where companies present new music- related technologies and services to a panel of industry experts, early adapters and venture capital com- munity representatives. Gear Alley Expo The Gear Alley Expo is expanding to four days for SXSW 2011 (Wednesday, March 16 to Saturday March, 19).
