Convention Center Happenings GO DOWNL NLOAD SXSW Trade Show's Final Day Today (Thursday, March 15), from 11am–4pm, is your last chance to visit the SXSW 2012 Trade Show and meet presenters from the interactive, fi lm and music worlds. The Meet Up Pavilion will host its last three mingling and networking events at 12, 1:30 and 3pm. The Next Stage NEXT STAGE While you are in the Trade Show hall, stop by the Next Stage. Today's events begin at 12pm and include (in order of appearance) the music of Mother Falcon and Craft Spells, the fi nal installment of Behind the Scenes with Indiewire, and Stand Up! Records comedy showcase. As you certainly know by now, SXSW is in full swing. Don't miss out on these terrifi c events going on for the rest of conference in the Austin Convention Center. Featuring talented up-and-coming designers, this retail event showcases the latest trends at the intersection of design and the creative industries with everything from streetwear to menswear designers, shoes, eyewear and other accessories. Style X takes place in the Austin Convention Center on Friday and Saturday, from 12–8pm. Runway shows featuring showcasing musi- cians as models take place between 6:15 and 7:15pm each night. Convention Center Day Stages One of the best kept secrets at SXSW Music are the Austin Convention Center's day stages which offer relaxed and intimate settings where registrants can see showcasing artists up close. Music Gear Expo The Music Gear Expo again brings gear vendors and musicians together. Look for the Music Gear Expo Lounge, featuring a daily happy hour from 4–5pm, presented by Klipsch. In addition, Austin's own Strait Music is operating the Music Gear Expo Store, where bands can buy last-minute accessories like drum sticks, drum heads, cables or even instruments, and take advantage of on-site repair technicians. Music Gear Expo is located in Exhibit Hall 5 on Level 1 and will be open today and Friday (March 16) from 12–6pm, and from 12–5pm on Saturday (March 17). The Radio Day Stage, located on the fourth fl oor in Ballroom D, features artists curated by top indepen- dent radio stations including WFUV (New York City), The Current (Minneapolis), KUT (Austin), WXPN (Philadelphia) and KEXP (Seattle). The Ballroom G Day Stage is located in Ballroom G on the fourth fl oor and also features a full slate of specially selected artists. Shows on both stages run until 6pm today and Friday, and from 12–3pm on Saturday. Schedule information can be found at sxsw.com/music. SX Bookstore Flatstock 33 Sponsored by HGTV More than 100 poster artists will display and sell concert posters rep- resenting thousands of bands and international venues in the 33rd installment of Flatstock, co-presented by the American Poster Institute (API) and SXSW. The exhibition can be found on Level 1 in Ballrooms A, B and C and is free and open to the public. Hours are today through Saturday, from 11am–6pm. 12 SXSW ORLD / M ARCH M USIC 201 2 While you are visiting the day stages, stop by the SX Bookstore, hosted by Barnes & Noble, open from 9am–6pm every day on the fourth fl oor in the Ballroom D Foyer. Watch out for daily book signings by featured authors. Film Screenings Continue SXSW Film continues through Saturday. The Vimeo Theater, located in Exhibit Hall 2 of the Austin Convention Center, will be screening fi lms through Saturday, including a Buzz Screening on Friday night and 2012 Audience Award winners on Saturday night.
