SXSW 2012 Trade Show: The Exhibition for Creative Industries. SXSW Exhibitions A PANEL ON THE NEXT STAGE led by Dana Harris of INDIEWIRE with three young, emerging female fi lmmakers made my heart sing. Dana asked them about working as women in the male dominated fi eld of fi lmmaking, and they responded that they don't even notice! Why? Because they're working with other women, including each other, empowering themselves. Women are front and center in indie fi lm and at SXSW. Hallelujah for that! –Janet Grillo (Cricket Films) PARTICIPATING IN THE SXSW GEAR EXPO WAS AMAZING. Being our fi rst time participating, we had no idea whether the investment in time and money would be worthwhile. It defi nitely was! We spoke with hundreds of musicians and got invalu- able feedback on the quality and design of our products. –Steven Jonas (Vice-President of Sales and Marketing: Pete Schmidt Music Accessories) OUR TRADE SHOW BOOTH helped us get our new iPhone app into the hands of users right away, and we got lots of great feedback for our next version. – Joshua Baer (Founder: OtherInbox) I FOUND THE EXPERIENCE EXTREMELY VALUABLE. I was given the opportunity to meet people I would have not considered had it not been for the Platinum Connection program. I really found that Flatstock 33 it allowed me to get far more out of being at SXSW than I had anticipated and acceler- ated our potential to take our business abroad. –Dan Ickowitz-Seidler (Propaganda) IT WAS GREAT to get the chance to meet and talk to like minded individuals in the com- fort of the British stand. –Jon Aird (BBC Comedy Online) ■ A packed house at the ScreenBurn Arcade.
