Sunday, March 11 Can't wait to come back again!!! –Rod Blackhurst (Co-Director/Co-Producer: Would You) SXSW HAS REALLY BECOME A WORLD EVENT! I couldn't help noticing at this year's festival that about every sixth person I spoke with seemed to be from another country. I spoke with Israelis, a German, a couple from France, a Polish lady, a guy from Sweden, a really young guy from South Korea, and a guy from Pakistan. So glad people are coming from all over to enjoy the inter- change of ideas, technology and fun. –Jeff Tamblyn (Heavy Weather Films) I LOVE SXSW FOR THE SERENDIPITY IT BRINGS. This year I bumped into a wild, bearded man who looked vaguely familiar. Turns out, he's an old friend from London, who wrote a gossip newsletter called NTK back in the early, like 1994 early, days of the web. He lives in San Francisco now and told me all about his latest adventures working to highlight journalists in Mexico who tend to have a shorter-than-average life expectancy due to the cartels. He claimed his part in this was small, but it sounded pretty scary to me. –Sam Michel (CEO: Chinwag) First Annual SXSW ScreenBurn Cosplay Competition. First Annual SXSW ScreenBurn Cos Play Competition Director Gotham Chopra (L) with his father Deepak Chopra at the world premiere of Decoding Deepak. Comedian Marc Maron signs posters at Esther's Follies. Actors Matthew Newton (L) and Kate Sheil were fea- tured students in "Jeffrey Tambor's Acting Workshop."
