Ben [Miller, lead singer of The Low Anthem] and I caught Springsteen's keynote and then went straight to the venue (ACL Live at the Moody Theater) to be greeted by Bruce sound- checking with Jimmy Cliff. I could've died right there and then. When they wrapped, I was standing in the middle of the empty venue, and Bruce jumped off the stage and walked straight to me; we had met briefl y a week prior at the Apollo Theatre. In the speech, he talked about The Animals, specifi - cally the song "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place," and how every song he had ever written was a variation of that song. I asked him if he knew Eric Burdon was in Timbaland at The Stage on Sixth's BET Music Matters show. Neon Indian at Barbarella, Moog/ Switched On/Static Tongues showcase. Arlo Guthrie on the "Woody Guthrie at 100" panel. Seun Kuti and Egypt 80 at Copa, presented by Spinlet. An all-star band played Big Star's Third at the Paramount Theatre. Steve Aoki at Republic Live during the Dim Mak/Insomniac show. T.I. at La Zona Rosa, presented by The Warner Sound Captured By Nikon. Grimes at the Central Presbyterian Church, Pitchfork showcase. Poliça performed at the IFC Crossroads House at Vice for the Paradigm showcase.
