In 2006, SXSW was honored to showcase their concert fi lm Awesome; I Fuckin' Shot That! (directed by Yauch) and host an interview attended by a standing-room-only crowd. On the next night, the Beastie Boys surprised fans with a concert at Stubb's that proved to be a huge highlight of the year. Yauch was a musical pioneer, a creative visionary and a tireless activist. Our thoughts are with his family and friends, as well as with all the others who have been affected by his numerous contributions over the years and feel his loss as we do. He will be greatly missed.
