The Oasis provides complimentary grab and go food and drinks, meeting space, and cell phone charging stations throughout the day. New to the 2017 festival, the always popular Film Mentor and Round Table sessions will be stationed in Ballroom A and B respectively. The networking that goes on in these sessions can now spill out afterwards to the Film & Industry happy hours and other amenities that the Film Festival Oasis presented by Amazon Video Direct offers to attendees. OUTDOOR SCREENINGS Saturday–March 11 | Monday–Tuesday, March 13-14 Long Center Terrace, 701 W. Riverside Dr SXSW Outdoor Film Screenings return for three nights during the festival! The fun starts Saturday, March 11 with the 20th Anniversary Screening of the essential grunge doc, HYPE! with a special performance by Naked Giants. On Monday, March 13, Cartoon Network returns with their family friendly night of animated goodness! On Tuesday, March 14, SXSW presents a special screening of anime classic Ghost in the Shell. Open to all badgeholders, the Virtual Cinema exhibition explores compelling new technology and how it changes the way we tell stories. FILM POSTER GALLERY Each year, SXSW Film celebrates the collaboration between filmmakers and designers. Located outside of the Vimeo Theater in the Austin Convention Center, the Film Poster Gallery showcases the posters designed for the 2017 program's films.
