27 CONFERENCE ACCESS Conference Access Crew Chiefs: Sue, Melanie, Don, Matt, Wally, Russell,  Cody,Anna Marie Conference Access Days of Operation: March 6 - 19, 2016 Conference Access Check In: Volunteers who work on this crew will  check in at Production Village, located in  Exhibit Hall 5. Exhibit Hall 5 is located on  the northeast side of the ACC, near the  corner of 4th and Red River. Volunteers will  also check out in this same location.  Conference Access Volunteer Responsibilities & Duties: Conference Access is responsible for  maintaining credentialed access to the  different areas of the Austin Convention  Center, where public access is limited. We are responsible for limiting access to  conference areas, but we should never  act as security.  Never touch or physically  restrain someone. Notify a crew chief,  shift leader, or building security if a patron  refuses to abide by SXSW credential  policies. Conference Access Attire and Reminders: No special wardrobe is required beyond  your SXSW Volunteer t-shirt and tasteful  bottoms, but it can get cold in the Austin  Convention Center. Volunteers may want  to wear layers underneath your volunteer  shirt, as your shirt must remain visible so  that you can be identified as a volunteer.  If you will be working before you receive  your credential (for example, you may be  waiting for a music badge, but working  during Interactive) you will need to pick up a  working volunteer day pass from Volunteer  Central. What Else Should Volunteers Know About the Conference Access Crew: One of the great things about the  Conference Access Crew is that daily  assignments vary across the many facets of  SXSWedu, Interactive, Film, and Music. In order to perform effectively, the crew  must be aware of the different credentials  that are allowed in different areas on a daily  basis. The presence of a daily "badge board"  makes that a fairly simple task.  It's very important to be on time and act  professionally, as we never want to do  anything that reflects poorly on SXSW, or  the host city of Austin. Conference Access prides themselves on  being a fun crew that welcomes people with  a warm and friendly attitude. We interact  with the public a great deal, if only for the  brief moments when we passively check  their credential or answer their questions.  How to Contact the Conference Access Crew: Volunteers who work on the Conference  Access Crew are asked to first email the  crew chiefs if you are going to be late,  miss a shift or need other assistance, time  permitting. The Conference Access Crew  email is sxconaccess@gmail.com.  If it's  less than 2 hours prior to the start of your  shift, email your crew, then call the Flake  Task Force at (512) 404-4623 if you're going  to be late, or miss the shift.
