23 CREW INFORMATION ACCELERATOR Accelerator Crew Chiefs & Staff: Sharla, Richard, Michelle Accelerator Days of Operation: March 11 – 13, 2016 Accelerator Check In: Volunteers who work on this crew will  check-in on the 4th floor of the Hilton  Austin, 500 E. 4th Street.  Accelerator Crew Duties/Areas of Responsibility: The Accelerator Crew operates in several  rooms on the 4th floor of the Hilton  Austin.  Volunteer duties include checking  badges, monitoring both the inside and  outside of event rooms, and assisting in  the green room and with finalist check- in.  In addition, a few selected (and  returning) volunteers take on specialized  roles in the stage production area under  the supervision of their shift leaders. This  includes stage management and running  slides for presenters. Others register and  instruct finalists, escort finalists to their  places in the stage area, as well as tally,  record and secure presenters' scores. Stage  management and technical assistance  positions are also available to experienced  volunteers. Accelerator Crew Attire and Reminders: Accelerator Volunteers should wear  the SXSW Volunteer t-shirt and tasteful  bottoms. The Hilton temperature  fluctuates and layering is recommended.  Wearing comfortable shoes and socks is  recommended. If you will be working before  you receive your credential (for example,  you may be waiting for a music badge, but  working during Interactive) you will need to  pick up a working volunteer day pass from  Volunteer Central. What Else Should Volunteers Know About the Accelerator Crew: Accelerator is a competition that gives  innovative new companies the opportunity  to showcase their product or company in  front of a panel of professional industry  expert judges and a live audience.  Volunteers will assist with setup, execution  and breakdown of this event. This is a fast- paced competition, therefore being flexible  and having a positive attitude is required.   How to Contact the Accelerator Crew: Volunteers who work on the Accelerator  Crew are asked to first email the crew chiefs  if you are going to be late, miss a shift or  need other assistance, time permitting. The  Accelerator Crew email is sxaccelerator@ gmail.com.  If it's less than 2 hours prior to  the start of your shift, email your crew, then  call the Flake Task Force at (512) 404-4623 if  you're going to be late or miss the shift.
