58 SPONSOR ACTIVATIONS Sponsor Activations Crew Chiefs: Lisa, Mace, Nicki, Robyn, Shannon, Syringa,  Vincent, Wilson Sponsor Activations Days of Operation: Pre-event, March 10-20, 2016 Sponsor Activations Check In: The Sponsor Activations Crew Chiefs will  communicate with you on your check in  location, as it is based on your assigned  spot during your shift. Check your  Shiftboard shift location online. Sponsor Activations Volunteer Responsibilities & Duties: The Sponsor Activations Crew's main  function is to be gracious hosts to  registrants who have the required badges  and wristbands to enter the lounges or the  VIP area of the SXSW Outdoor Stage at  Lady Bird Lake.  The Sponsor Activations Crew Volunteers  are responsible for checking credentials at  the lounges, keeping track of how many  people enter and leave, and monitoring the  lounges to assist in creating an organized  and inviting area.  Shift leaders for Sponsor Activations  monitor the other volunteers and the station  to which they are assigned to make sure  everyone is on task. Sponsor Activations Attire and Reminders: Sponsor Activations Volunteers should wear  the SXSW Volunteer t-shirt and tasteful  bottoms. Volunteers working outdoors  should wear anything that is comfortable if  the weather is hot (sunglasses and hats, and  also bring sunscreen.) If the temperature  is cold you should bring a sweatshirt, or a  hoodie. If you will be working before you  receive your credential (for example, you  may be waiting for a music badge, but  working during Interactive) you will need to  pick up a working volunteer day pass from  Volunteer Central, or your crew chiefs if you  are working outside of the ACC. What Else Should Volunteers Know About the Sponsor Activations Crew: Sponsor Activation volunteers may find it  helpful to know the SXSW sponsors for  2016. This helps you understand what  is allowed and not allowed during the  event. For example, knowing the sponsors  will prepare you to spot and notify your  crew chiefs of any companies who are  not sponsors that may be giving away  their company's materials. The Sponsor  Activations Crew is a lot of fun and is  fantastic to work with! How to Contact the Sponsor Activations Crew: If you need to contact your Sponsor  Activations Crew Chiefs, you can email them  at sxsponsoractivations@gmail.com. During  the event, you may also call/text them on  their show phone. Please make sure to call  or text, then email your crew chiefs if you  are going to miss your shift or arrive late.  If it's less than 2 hours prior to the start of  your shift, first email your crew, then call the  Flake Task Force at (512) 404-4623 if you're  going to be late or miss the shift.
