Keeping up with the Grulke Prize Winners The Grulke Prize, which recognizes SXSW show- casing artists in three award categories, honors our friend & colleague SXSW Creative Director Brent Grulke. We're happy to report that the summer has been busy for our 2014 Grulke Prize Winners: Future Islands (2014 Developing US Act) – This busy band has been on the road non-stop since early February. They released a brilliant new album (SINGLES) and taped their debut Austin City Limits television episode in September. The Strypes (2014 Developing Non-US Act) - These young Irish rockers released their debut album (Snapshot) immediately following SXSW 2014. Since then, they have taken the world by storm, performing on various festival bills. Damon Albarn (2014 Career Act) - The man behind Blur, and later Gorillaz, put out his own debut studio album (Everyday Robots) in April and has been performing at summer festivals, including Bonnaroo and Latitude.
