4 4 S X S W O R L D / M A R C H F I L M - I A 2 0 1 4 Jeffrey Tambor is a familiar face to film and TV audiences, having been a stage and screen actor since the 1970s. For the past few years, he has conducted highly popular acting workshop at SXSW Film, including one today (Sunday, March 9) at 3:30pm in the Austin Convention Center's Room 18ABCD. This year, Tambor also brought his 40-plus years of teaching experi- ence to SXSWedu, where he was the closing keynote speaker. The accompanying quote was taken from his presentation entitled: "Performing Your Life: What's Keeping You?" "People ask me if this lecture is about happiness. That is the last thing this is about. It's about people not achieving their dreams and settling into easier more comfortable 'rooms.' I believe we come into this world with 'sealed orders,' and the trouble starts with not opening them and paying attention. Follow your dreams – the ones that grab you by the throat and say 'look at me'– the ones we all too readily put aside." – Jeffrey Tambor P H O T O B Y R I TA Q U I N N
