Media are voracious and looking for a story at SXSW. While we can't guarantee coverage
from them, you should reach out to select local and international media & bloggers and tell
them you're an Official 2014 Showcasing Artist. Please use the info respectfully and only for
the benefit of your act.
Please prioritize your official SXSW showcase and do not
book any non-SXSW shows between 7:00pm and 2:00am
during the Music Festival (March 11–16). This is to ensure
that audiences aren't diminished for your official perfor-
mance. Also, we want your set to be the strongest and
tightest possible so that registrants including the media
and industry reps are seeing you in top form.
SXSW has one of the most lenient exclusivity clauses
of any music festival in the world. But unfortunately, if we see that you're playing a non-SX show
between 7:00pm and 2:00am, we will have to ask you to choose between your official showcase and
the unofficial play.
SXSW is excited to launch our Music Hackathon Championship this March, and we're looking for musi-
cians (no matter how tech-savvy you are) to join up with our select group of world-class programmers,
coders, and designers who will work for 24-straight hours to build amazing hacks and useful tools
designed with artists and SXSW in mind. Your opinions and input are invaluable for this undertaking,
and you could leave SXSW with an incredible new tech innovation! If this interests you at all, and can
