You'll hear from and be surrounded by music industry players who can help make music your livelihood. Day parties are cool, but having a successful career is cooler. Panels With over 200 sessions this year, our programming runs the gamut of virtually every issue in today's music industry. Just a few sessions of particular note to artists: Anatomy of a Placement, Making the Transition From Artist to Suit, Build Your Business In The UK, How to Build the Right Team Around Your Music, DIY Digital: A Guide to Organic Online Marketing, Touring Tips from the Trenches, Trailer Cash: How to Hitch Your Music to a Trailer, DIY Screenprinting Tips & Tricks, Website Demolition Derby, Transform a One Night Stand Into a Long Relationship, and Sync to Success: How to Get Placed & Get Paid. Demo Listening and Licensing Pitch Sessions Demo Listenings and Music Supervisor Pitch Sessions offer the chance to get direct feedback on your mu- sic. From label reps, A&R, management who listen to demo tapes as part of their job and the licensing, sync, and music supervision experts who could license your music for film, TV, commercials and more. One-on-One Mentors Our Music Mentor Program gives you direct access to industry professionals who have agreed to share their time and experience with others. Receive personalized input by scheduling one-on-one meetings with the mentor of your choice by signing up for our daily sessions here. Artist Central returns in 2014, with musician-focused programming featuring clinics, workshops and sessions from touring smart to sync licensing to the crossfader as meta- phor, and featuring the likes of Rodney Crowell, J Period, Rusty Anderson, Martin Atkins, and more (Plus, free beer for artists next door…). Composing Music to Task Are you interested in composing music for commercials? Music for spots is not about the music itself, it's about music supporting a branded message, telling a story, and making an idea better. This session is an opportunity to try your hand at writing and interpreting a creative brief, and have your it critiqued by industry experts on Wednesday, 3/12 at 5pm. Download the spot, read the brief and submit your idea ahead of time. Show up and hear direct, informative feedback the way composers do on a daily basis.
