What an incredible experience! To start with, my accommodation had a pet pig called Yankee Doodle and at my fi rst gig, Macklemore crowd-walked on my hands and Action Bronson rap-spat on my face. Then, I made friends on the night bus and ended up at an intimate 2am Hundred Waters gallery gig. The following day, I met a heap of music industry people, such as the director of a music licensing company in LA and my favourite Australian radio presenter. The day after that, MTV, Asos and some Dutch fashion blog photographed my weird clashing attire while I was chilling out at The Fader Fort. Somewhere in the mix, I fell more in love with Swedish music, discovered the charming magic of South Congress and was serenaded by Emmylou Harris. I'd call that SXSWinning! At the Continental Club, Jerry Lee Lewis successor Jason D. Williams's energy was unbounded. At the Alamo Ritz, the Chris Strachwitz documentary This Ain't No Mouse Music was tremendously moving.
