McNamee, Founding Partner and Managing Director of the venture capital firm Elevation Partners, is the author of the recently published Zucked: Waking Up to the Facebook Catastrophe and has been involved in a public campaign to raise awareness of the dark side of social media. Hackathon Starts Tuesday The SXSW Hackathon returns for its sixth annual 24-hour coding marathon on Tuesday, and developers, artists and tech creatives from around the world are preparing to design and build new projects using Music, VR, AR, AI, and Blockchain. The three winning projects will be awarded prizes by our panel of top-level industry and creative judges. In addition, at the SXSW Hackathon Incubator (March 14–15), mentors will work with the winning teams to test and fine-tune their projects. The SXSW Hackathon is presented by R9B. Registration and More Austin Convention Center Services SXSW Registration is located in the Austin Convention Center's Ballroom B, in the southeast corner of the first floor. Additional registration services, including Speaker and Filmmaker Help Desks, will be available in Exhibit Hall 1 from Thursday, March 7 through Saturday, March 9. Film Wristbands are available starting today. Artist and Music Wristband pick-up begins on Monday, March 11. SXSW Gaming Wristbands are available starting on Friday, March 15.
